Physiotherapy

I've been going for my physiotherapy sessions for a month now and I still experience pain in my lower back =.=

My therapist did mention it may take 3 months or more for it to fully heal.. Of course it depends on how hardworking I am with my core n back muscle exercises (I'm trying.. really I am :p)

Every session involves either current (electric) or ultrasound therapy with an occasional traction therapy where they bound you with some straps on the bed and the machine pulls your lower bottom forcing the muscles to stretch.. You can definitely feel the muscles being pulled and I always imagine my muscles tearing apart :p

The usual current therapy she uses is from a bigger machine with 2 small patches attached and placed on my back and depending on the watts, it does get a little painful. It works in rhythms..from small circular motions to intense penetration (gets ticklish too lol!).

The second type which also uses patches are attached to a smaller handheld device. This doesn't work in rhythms and is much more intense and my therapist kept telling me to increase the intensity (in my mind I was thinking are you nuts?) That current hurt like crazy as it hits my spinal area, 10 mins of that felt like it lasted forever.. This is usually used on patients with chronic pain and well I guess I'm in that category now :p

Another scary handheld device has 2 metal semi-circle rods used by the therapist. It goes round and round on the injured area and it gives out zapping sounds (kinda like this: tat-tat-tat-tatattatatatattatat) lol!

Every 2 weeks I go for a follow up with my specialist, Dr. Rozman who in the end writes me a letter for another 2 weeks of therapy sessions. This is my 3rd letter which means it's my 6th week.. And I would expect many more letters and many more weeks of therapy :p
