Hubs decides to get me this Op Art Glam for Raya but now I can't bring myself to use it :p It's still a little too high-class for me lol! Hubs thought this casual and spacious bag would suit me and also because it's pink hehe.. Well I couldn't agree more.. *Heart* my very first Coach bag =)

ps: Costs slightly more than 1k ;) and he like my dad, wasn't reluctant to let me know the price!

What a storm in and out

Yesterday was my Daddy's 59th birthday =) We celebrated it on Sunday night over Thai food and Buk made him a special birthday card (which he spent the whole evening explaining the things he drew on the card hehe).. It was a simple and short celebration without the rest the of Chang members.

We called him yesterday to wish him a happy birthday and well, Buk conquered the phone chatting with his 'KongKong' =D

Dark clouds gathered some time in the evening and soon rain poured heavily. The wind was howling and trees were being blown so hard I thought they might be uprooted :p

Hubs came home and rang the doorbell because the wooden door was closed. He had a pissed off look on his face and to my horror, our shoes were thrown out of the house! They were all soaked in the rain!!! On top of that, our big clothes hanger fell on the ground, bringing all of the washed clothes with it. Great.. Now I have a load of soaked dirty clothes and shoes!

Before I moved on to confronting the culprits who had itchy hands, I cleared off the clothes and washed them again. Then it started.. "Kd boy did it, Mum!" "Nooo... KohKoh!!" Sigh I wasn't in the mood to yell or should I say lack the energy lol...

I asked Buk which pair he threw out and smacked him on his palms for each pair thrown. Same goes to Kd Boy who apparently threw out my sandals, Hubs sports shoes, Buk's Adidas sneakers and my Crocs... Oh and Sentinel Prime as well.. =.=

They get really playful and would always end up doing something senseless like this.. Not that I discourage play but something like this is definitely a no-no..

Suction cups

Went for physio yesterday and therapist tortured me huhuuu...

First she pressed on my back with such force I was oww-ing and squirming away.. The pain is still as intense as before! Then she used a different machine on me..

I had a few of these 'suction cups' all over my back I'm sure I looked like out of some alien movie!

These 'suction cups' are connected to a machine which gives out whirring sounds as it work. Kinda like a generator :p

The cups actually gives out current as it sucks (that's the best way I could describe it!) That's why large round facial sponges are used to avoid pinching on the skin. I lost track on how long these cups were on me but when they were removed, I could feel muscle spasm esp around my lower back area..

After being an 'alien' they covered me with ice packs to help calm down the inflammation in my muscles.. I usually have one on my back but this time they put one on my shoulder as well and boy.. it was much colder and tingly! Then everything went numb..

Grr.. if only the numbness in my back lasts forever! I'm spending too much time travelling to the hospital and not to mention the amount I'm using from the medical insurance!

Enfagrow casting

Talent Gallery called and asked if Buk would like to go for a casting call for Enfagrow TV ad. Of course he would! (well ok I'm more interested in the idea :p)

Today I brought him for the audition and this is what he did

I couldn't help giggling throughout the thing. This was his 3rd take and did another in BM (which I'm now smacking myself for not taking that video. He needed only 1 take and did a very good job! :D)

I'm keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed and hope TG calls with some good news hehe. They wanted to cast KD as well but as usual the lil grump refused to say the lines. (He only did so at bedtime =.=)

PS: Buk's line - "What if we run out of pumpkins?" :D And "Kalau tak cukup labu?" Cuteness!

Coach me

I'm not 1 for high-end designer clothes let alone handbags but when Hubs offered to buy me a Coach, well I'm a girl and I wouldn't wanna reject such a generous offer! ;)

So I checked out Coach.com and found a few bags to my liking and quickly showed them to Hubs who kinda snorted at my excitement :p Can you blame me really?

On one hand, I feel guilty to spend such exorbitant amount on 1 handbag but on another, I'm being really materialistic. RM1k for a bag seems a lil far fetched (and what kind of lifestyle do we lead, really?) Then I start comparing it to other high-end brands and think, heck, at least I'm not choosing one which costs as much as his monthly pay ;)

I've shown him 3 designs which I like and we'll see if he is that generous =D

Patent Spotlight ($298)

Signature Spotlight ($268)

Op Art Glam ($198)

Yes I know they're all pink ;) What can I say? It's 1 of my fave colours and I think they look super chic, sweet and girly =D

Physiotherapy

I've been going for my physiotherapy sessions for a month now and I still experience pain in my lower back =.=

My therapist did mention it may take 3 months or more for it to fully heal.. Of course it depends on how hardworking I am with my core n back muscle exercises (I'm trying.. really I am :p)

Every session involves either current (electric) or ultrasound therapy with an occasional traction therapy where they bound you with some straps on the bed and the machine pulls your lower bottom forcing the muscles to stretch.. You can definitely feel the muscles being pulled and I always imagine my muscles tearing apart :p

The usual current therapy she uses is from a bigger machine with 2 small patches attached and placed on my back and depending on the watts, it does get a little painful. It works in rhythms..from small circular motions to intense penetration (gets ticklish too lol!).

The second type which also uses patches are attached to a smaller handheld device. This doesn't work in rhythms and is much more intense and my therapist kept telling me to increase the intensity (in my mind I was thinking are you nuts?) That current hurt like crazy as it hits my spinal area, 10 mins of that felt like it lasted forever.. This is usually used on patients with chronic pain and well I guess I'm in that category now :p

Another scary handheld device has 2 metal semi-circle rods used by the therapist. It goes round and round on the injured area and it gives out zapping sounds (kinda like this: tat-tat-tat-tatattatatatattatat) lol!

Every 2 weeks I go for a follow up with my specialist, Dr. Rozman who in the end writes me a letter for another 2 weeks of therapy sessions. This is my 3rd letter which means it's my 6th week.. And I would expect many more letters and many more weeks of therapy :p

Happy 4th Birthday!

We celebrated Khalis' 4th birthday on the 10th July. (He's 4 already?) =D

Had a small class party for him with a small homemade cake and later on celebrated another round with his TokMa, all his aunts and uncles.

I didn't prepare another cake but someone had a small cute cupcake ready =D Although Khalis was more excited to open up all his presents then blow out the candle lol!

This year we decided not to have another big party to curb overspending (and the hassle to organize a party, really) but instead have small, personal ones. As long as he's happy with celebrating with his friends and family, that is enough =)

Class party *Spot the happy bday boy* =D

Homemade cake..

and a mini cupcake!

All the presents for the birthday boy (who got impatient and opened the biggest box!)

Eeee.. BumbleBee!

Happiest Birthday boy!

Kd Boy joins in too!

Happy Birthday, Buk! Looooove you so much! =D

We Had Him ~ Maya Angelou

Beloveds,
Now we know that we know nothing,
Now that our bright and shining star can slip away from our fingertips,
Like a puff of summer wind.

Without notice,
Our dear love can escape our doting embrace.
Sing our songs among the stars and
Walk our dances across the face of the moon.

In the instant that Michael is gone, we know nothing.
No clocks can tell time.
No oceans can rush our tides with the abrupt absence of our treasure.
Though we are many, each of us is achingly alone, piercingly alone.

Only when we confess our confusion can we remember that he was a gift to us
And we did have him.

He came to us from the Creator, trailing creativity in abundance.
Despite the anguish, his life was sheathed in mother love, family love,
And survived and did more than that.
He thrived with passion and compassion, humor and style.

We had him whether we know who he was or did not know,
He was ours and we were his.

We had him, beautiful, delighting our eyes.
His hat, aslant over his brow, and took a pose on his toes for all of us.
And we laughed and stomped our feet for him.
We were enchanted with his passion because he held nothing.
He gave us all he had been given.

Today in Tokyo, beneath the Eiffel Tower, in Ghana’s Black Star Square.
In Johannesburg and Pittsburgh, in Birmingham, Alabama, and Birmingham, England
We are missing Michael.
But we do know we had him, and we are the world.

A beautiful poem written by one of the greatest poets we know, Dr. Maya Angelou.
A tribute read to all by Queen Latifah during Michael Jackson's memorial.

Michael Jackson

Undoubtedly, millions of people out there are affected by the loss of our King of Pop. Admittedly, I am one of them.

It took a while for the truth to sink in. I felt numb. It wasn't real. He didn't die. It's just a rumour. Even after reading the news on e!online and watching it on the telly, it was just too difficult to accept it. Michael Jackson. Dead. Nope. It can't be.

After a few more 'latest news on MJ's death' in my face; I finally let myself believe it. The ache in my heart is silent to everyone else. Why do I feel this way? I didn't know him personally. He wasn't my father or my brother. He wasn't my husband or a relative.

He was a singer whom I grew up listening to. It was his collection of MTVs (when it was played on a LaserDisc) which I watched over and over as a kid. He was the one who made me and my friends gather round to watch his superb 'Ghost' videoclip. It was the effect he had on us. The magic he had on us.

In many ways he has touched a lot of people's lives. He was a visionary. A humanitarian. A talented songwriter. A superb entertainer. One can't help but watch in awe as he performs his famous moonwalk and dance routines. His songs are undeniably catchy and meaningful.

My heart aches as I think of all the wonderful things he could have done. My heart aches for the long awaited comeback that never was. My heart aches for his children who shares his legacy. My heart aches for the loss of our great music icon.

Oh, my aching back..

So, I finally got off my bum and went to get a referral letter from my GP to see a specialist regarding my back. It's been more than a year since the pain worsen.. I can't even remember how it happened.. or when.. - was in back in high school? Or was it after the kids?

I recall backaches especially after vigorous training in sports and dance. The worst training was the crazy stunts we did in cheerleading back in 2000.. I fell face flat once onto a cemented ground. I was required to stand on my friend's shoulder (who is ard 5feet 8), leap in the air and hope to land back first safely on my fellow babes who built a human arm 'bridge'.. Something happened along the training.. Someone wasn't prepared, I lost control, MG couldn't support me and SPLAT I went. We were all pretty exhausted from all the training and that fall called it a day.. I banged up my right knee and hands pretty badly.. and boy was I sore all over..

Besides that fall, all the training probly took up a lot of me (especially since I was quite small back then)

Anyway, back to present time.. My GP recommeded a specialist in DSH - Dr. Rozman, who is a friend of hers. Hubs helped me arrange for an appointment on Saturday morning and so we went.

Got to the hospital 10mins after 9 and realized that it's a first-come-first-serve basis even though we had an appointment. Oh well.. There were 5 patients ahead of me so we went for breakfast at the cafeteria to kill some time.. I only got to see the doc ard 10.30!

Dr.Rozman's a friendly doc who is a huge fan of F1 racing. There's pictures of the cars and drivers, autographed photos, plaques and replicas of the F1 cars in a tall cabinet.. =D

He asked some questions regarding pain in the legs, thighs etc.. and proceeded with some stretching, tapping and even tickling my feet! The good news is that my nerves are not involved seeing I don't get numbness or pins and needles in my legs and thighs.. It's very likely an old injury which occured some time ago. He calls it scarred muscle tissue and recommended Physiotherapy - the only way to help heal the wound... He sent me for an x-ray to double check on my spine.. So another round of q-ing up at the x-ray room before I head back to him to see my film.

Hubs left with the boys for an appointment with the real estate agent to look at a house here in BSD while I waited for my turn (seems ages) for the procedure..

My spine is in perfect condition although it is not very curved when laying down causing muscle spasms which doesn't help with the wound I already have. Now I understand why some days (and nights) my back is so sore I can't do much or sleep much for that matter..

Dr.Rozman prescribed some medication to be taken when I start my physiotherapy - 5 sessions in 2 weeks and a follow up with him after. I've made my appointment for Thursday at 2pm for an assessment before they plan out what's right for me. Wish I could get it done tmr but since Hubs isn't ard til Wed, I'll just have to wait..

Part of me is excited to know what therapy is given to me, but also I'm a lil nervous of the procedure itself.. He did say I'm going to go through some pain, hence the medication.. how intense would it be? Guess I will find out soon! =p

Wanted list fulfilled..

.. well at least for now.. ;)

Hubs decided to give in to my whims and bought me the Origins products I wanted for so long.

However, the salesgirl advised me to take a different face serum and not from the Plantidote range which is supposedly more suitable for matured skin. *ahem* Seeing I'm not in the 'matured' category she recommended me the 'A Perfect World' face serum.

~A Perfect World Face Serum~
White tea skin guardian. Protect your skin against the damaging effects of oxidative stress with the now-famous White Tea wonder. Creates a protective bubble around skin. Helps build skin's resistance to environmental damage and visible signs of aging.

Suitable for all skin types.

Comes in:
30ml (RM150)

50ml (RM200)

~Plantidote Eye Serum~
This visionary formula calms skin and helps break the cycle that can lead to unsightly eye area concerns, while creating an overall healthier-looking eye zone. It features Dr. Weil's proprietary Mega-Mushroom blend plus nature's most soothing extracts to help quell over-reactive skin. For anyone seeking a calmer, healthier looking eye area, it's a must-see.

Best for sensitive skin. Suitable for all skin types.

Comes in:
15ml (RM200)

I decided to take the 50ml face serum and both products came up to RM400 *faint* On top of these, the salesgirl gave me 2 packets of A Perfect World deep cleanser, a tiny tube of High Potency Night-a-Mins moisture cream, Modern Friction gentle dermabrasion and a 60min facial treatment worth RM80! =D

Now I gotta sayang my Hubby even more.. if not then he merajuk :p

The other thing on my wanted list was Original Source products which can only be found in the UK (as far as I know).. So happen that Kath was heading there for the holidays and I knew I had to ask her if she could help me find them ;)

Thankfully she did find all (bless her) except the Lavender and TeaTree shower gel (bummer!).. Nonetheless I'm very happy with the Mint and TeaTree range which was only RM5.70 each! At the same time, I have now influenced her to try out the products as well hehe..

So double joy for me to get the stuffs in my wanted list in the same week! woot! *silly dance* ;)

Cotton Island Pt2

The two lil' ones went to bed almost immediately in the 1 queen size bed. We had to squeeze in to make space and get comfortable but we were already so tired it didn't matter. It rained heavily some time in the middle of the night making it all much nicer to sleep..

When morning came, Hubs and Buk went for breakfast while Kd and I slept a little longer. When I say a little longer, it really was! Kd woke up soon after they left much to my dismay.. What happened after breakfast? Yup, time to swim again!

We spent the rest of the morning in the sea and just lazing around. By 12ish we had to get ready, pack up and wait for our ride back to the jetty. Again Buk held on really tightly in the speedboat and Kd just chilled all the way.. =D

We weren't ready to head home yet, so we took a slow drive.. stopped by the roadside to get some keropok lekor.. went for lunch.. took the boys to a playground and had some goreng pisang, lekor and other snacks..

We only managed to get home close to midnight due to traffic congestion along the way. Boys slept throughout the journey while Hubs and I took turns driving. We were pretty exhausted by the time we got back but it was definitely an enjoyable adventure!

Cotton Island Pt1

Ok ok it's called Pulau Kapas ;)

After spending 1 night at Kuala Terengganu town, we decided to check out every chalet in Pulau Kapas for a room (seeing we couldn't find one the night before..) and what luck! We managed to find one very last room at Chalet MakCik Gemuk =D

We started off to the island from the jetty via speedboat and boy.. it was a pretty choppy ride! The waves were strong and we felt as though we were about to be thrown out of the boat with every crash.. Buk was nervous as he held on as tightly as possible to Hubs while Kd was enjoying the wind in his face lol!

Boys were really excited when we arrived and couldn't wait to play in the sand (we haven't even got to our room yet!) The room was made of wooden planks with a decent toilet, a tiny tv and fan. Good enough for us change, bathe and sleep in.

We spent the next few hours exploring the island and swimming in the cool waters. Boys had their buckets, shovels and water cans with them and we tried building some sort of sand castle =D

The tough part was to get them out of the water! After much persuasion, I managed to get all 3 of them back to the room, showered and took their naps.. By evening, we went for dinner and the boys went back for a swim right after they ate! I stayed back and snapped some pretty photos of the sunset and enjoyed the cool breeze.

Father's Day

Today is Father's Day and I wanted to take my dad out for a durian feast at SS2..

Unfortunately, he had a late lunch and wasn't up for it although I was glad he came to see us and spent some time with Buk (Kd was asleep hehe)..

I was pretty upset that we didn't go for it - partly cause I've been craving for durians and also because I wanted to take him out to celebrate..

After he left, Hubs said I bullied my dad by making him come to us.. I don't think he would have said that if my dad didn't bring Buk's early birthday present and some clothes for the boys.. It's as though I made him bring those things on purpose.

I was pretty hurt at what he said because I genuinely wanted to bring my dad to have the feast as he's such a big fan of durians and I know we would enjoy ourselves. I hardly spend time with my dad because of our weird father-daughter relationship (will write about it some time later) and I want to try to make it better.

Well, at least I got to see him and wished him Happy Fathers' Day..

Our adventurous roadtrip

Pack up, honey we're going off tomorrow =D

Hubs and I couldn't decide on where to go for the school holidays so we ended up on a mini adventurous roadtrip to the East Coast. (I only packed on the day itself! - Call me lazybones ;) hehe..)

So on Friday, we took our own sweet time procrastinating.. la di da.. then finally packed and ready to go (at 2pm! eeps..) Kd fell asleep almost immediately since he skipped his morning nap and didn't wake up til almost 3 hours later! Buk was yakking most of the way but did nap for a while (and so did I!) lol..

By the time we hit Cherating, it was already 5+ but we continued on to Dungun where we found a mini-mall and filled our rumbling tummies =D With kids happily fed and freshen up, we continued on with our journey..

Paka was next and it was getting dark so we started looking out for a place to stay.. I think we must have tried asking a bezillion hotels, motels, chalets you name it, and they were all fully booked!!

At our last motel enquiry, Hubs met a young guy who suggested we hit to Kuala Terengganu town and try asking Felda Hotel or Seri Malaysia hotel (to my horror really since we have had a bad experience with Seri Malaysia Resort Port Dickson).

We stayed optimistic and headed to KT town (which seemed forever from Paka lol!) while trying to book a room at Felda Hotel. They only allow walk-ins and would not let us reserve a room over the phone! My heart was racing by this time if you can imagine, thinking of all the people hunting for a room like we were!

Thankfully, and to our relief, we manage to get a room at Felda Hotel.. It was already slightly after 11pm! Hubs was so tired from all the driving and I just wanted to get out of the car and get the kids comfortable..

BUT.. before we could rest and relax, our room keycard was faulty!! Hubs called the reception and they sent someone up to get us another keycard.. So there we were, standing outside our welcoming room, carrying the boys as they slept (along with their dead weight) just waiting..

By the time we got in, we had a quick shower, changed the boys into their Pjs and totally just passed out at quarter after midnight.. Nice.. =D

PD Trip

Here are some pictures taken at PD beach =)

Peace, Dad! ;D

Kd enjoying the waves

Even when he got hit with a big one =D

Muddy icky fingers!

The boys in my life ;)

Spot the crab!

We had great fun at the beach on that hot sunny Sunday ;) Kids refused to leave (yes, including the Daddy-kid lol!) but we were all pretty much burning under the scorching sun.. After our bath and lunch, we were all so red! Lobster family! =D
It's good to be able to relax at the beach and swim in the cooling waters. Thankfully our beach spot was pretty clean despite the crowd.. It has gotten way too commercial.. Time to have our next trip to an island instead ;)

An outdoor wedding and a lousy hotel Pt3

After taking some pictures with the happy couple, we bid adieu and left the beach house. Kids were pretty worn out by now so it was about time we head back to our musty hotel room.

We left the a/c on before we left and the room wasn't even cold when we returned! Hubs grumbled but decided to get the kiddies in bed first but what's with the cheering and laughing we hear outside our window?

Just our luck that a group of hotel guests were having some sort of karaoke birthday celebration at the patio! Right in front of our window! Good thing boys were too tired to be bothered by all the noise.. By now, Hubs and I were contemplating on changing hotels altogether. It was already past 10pm and the air was thinning due to poor ventilation..

Again Hubs called the reception and demanded for a new room and this time they agreed. We were doubtful it would be any different (since she mentioned 4 families have already changed rooms that day) but gave it a second chance anyway.

They gave us a new room 2 doors down and what lousy service they have. First she told Hubs someone will send us the new room key then 15 minutes later, she called again and told him to collect it from the front desk. Already tired and cranky, Hubs was in a lousy lousy mood.. I started packing up and ready to leave.

He came back shaking his head cuz the new room is the same! Musty and problematic a/c. I went to check it myself and overheard our next door neighbours with the same issue! That was it! I told Hubs to check in on another hotel cuz there's no way we're staying there for the night.

So, at 11pm, we left Seri Malaysia Resort Hotel (after they refunded our money) and stayed at a motel instead. Cleaner, fresher and a working a/c. The motel was RM70 cheaper but with much proper room and service!

An outdoor wedding and a lousy hotel Pt2

We arrived at the Dawood family beach house all ready to see the bride and groom and catch up with some old friends from school. Most of them looks familiar while some I can't quite remember lol!

We were directed to the reception area in the backyard and man, I must say the place is HUGE! (And this is only the outdoor).. There was a nice big swimming pool, which made the boys really excited as they thought they were going for a swim! It was quite a challenge peeling them away from the water..

Beside the pool was a small table and chair where we wrote in the guestbook (Buk insisted he should write his own name - and he did, as big as possible.. taking up quite a bit of the page =p)
A flight of steps led us to the garden filled with tables, chairs, 2 canopies for the caterers and deejays and a stage). Right in front of the garden is the beach. We enjoyed the sounds of the waves and the wind blowing in our hair while boys sat in a swing nearby. It was a lovely evening.

Soon the crowd started pouring in and we see a few familiar faces.. Got ourselves a table while everyone waits for the bride and groom's memorable entrance. Kids were hungry so we got some food for them (although we should have waited hehe).. Then I saw Ridzwan on a bike.. Not any ordinary one but a classic old-school bike in mint condition. I thought to myself that's a darn cute looking bike lol..

Then the deejay announced the arrival of our dear lovebirds and how do you think they appeared? On the cool looking, classic, old-school, mint condition bike, of course! =D They went on the stage and thanked us for coming and a lil joke from Lan on how he's taken now (and he later said to me that he's now grown up when we met them) - Must have been something I said to him on FaceBook on his birthday last year ;)

We're really happy for them.. On their union as a wedded couple. May Allah S.W.T blesses them and may they enjoy their new found bliss... =)

An outdoor wedding and a lousy hotel Pt1

Hubs has been friends with Lan since primary and when we heard he's finally settling down, we were pretty stoked. We were invited to his family beach home in PD to celebrate the lovebirds' special night =)

Our Saturday started off pretty slowly.. Did some laundry (it's neverending), settled the boys and took Kd to his Tumble Tots class while Buk spent some time with Hubs. Then we went for lunch and tried to tire out the boys so they can sleep on the way..

Upon arriving at PD, we decided to look for Lan's place first before hunting for a hotel. His place is pretty secluded but we found it soon enough. Once we located the beach house, we headed on for a place for us to stay. Most hotels were fully booked, much to our dismay.. So when we found one available, we took up the room almost immediately (it was already 5.30pm and we were suppose to be at the reception in an hour! gasp..)

Honestly we didn't expect Seri Malaysia Resort Hotel to be such a disappointment. The moment Hubs opened our room door, a musty and stuffy smell greeted us. We brushed it off thinking it's probably because the air-cond has just started, we went ahead to refresh ourselves. We were in the room for about 30 mins and the air-cond was still blowing warm air.. That's when Hubs called the receptionist and requested for someone to take a look at it.. Waited for 15mins for the maintenance guy to arrive and only then he cleaned and refill gas for the outdoor unit.

Hubs was pretty peeved by now and demanded for a new room but somehow the hotel staff was incredibly reluctant to let us change rooms! So we ended up stuck in the same room. The guy finished fixing the air-cond and told us to call the reception if it still doesn't work. (Should we be concerned by now? It's as though he expects the a/c not to work..)

We were already late for Lan's wedding but decided to hang on and wait for the a/c to work.. It was a little cold after the gas refill but we were not convinced it's working properly.. Hoping we were wrong, we left for the beach house half an hour late..

It may have lied..

Hubs and I brought the boys to MidValley on Saturday for the Monsters and Dinosaurs showcase.. Nothing spectacular, really. Well except for Apatasourus' broken neck. It was mended with large tape and painted over with black paint =.= Kd Boy was excited cause he's such a big fan of dinos - he went running around naming them.. =D

Anyway, after the showcase we went walking around in the mall and Buk spotted a weighing machine.. Thinking it was a fun ride (yes that's my silly boy) he wanted to give it a try. Since I had a few 20sen coins, we decided to have a go.

He put the coin in and was so excited to see the lights come on and the scanner going left and right a few times when it finally settled on.. 15kg. He squealed with glee and told us to try lol! Next up was Kd Boy but scanner didn't stop for the longest time! =D Was it because he was too light? Surely he can't be less than 5kg lol..

I took him off the machine and stepped on it myself and hold my breath for the dreaded results. The scanner then stopped at 50kg..

50kg?? What's happened to the rest of me? The blurbblurb kg I had on a few months ago? Surely I didn't lose that much weight in the short span of time.. Especially when I hardly go to the gym or do any sort of workout at home.. Well except being a 'playground' for the boys..

I do not believe the machine for one bit.. I shall look for another weighing scale to find out my actual weight. Seriously. It definitely may have lied..

A 'Grown up' Conversation

Whilst driving home, Buk asked if he could sleep in our room tonight.. I reminded him that he's only allowed to have a 'sleepover' on Fridays and Saturdays. (It's like a lil' weekend treat for him lol..)

The rest of the conversation went like this..

I can sleep in your room when I'm a father, right?

Huh? Father?

Yea because I'll be too tall for my bed. And Daddy sleeps in your room because he can't fit in a small bed..

I tried so hard not to laugh at his straightforward answer lol!

I started explaining to him how when he's a father he'll have his own family.. his own home and room and a big bed to sleep in (Gee.. I can't bring myself to think of him as a grown up).. Then he said..

Oh then I don't have to go to school anymore, right?

*Laughs* Yeah you'd be working by then..

Ok then I don't have to sleep in your room?

No, baby.. You'll have your own when you're a grown up..

Oh.. Look Kd Boy! A cement mixer!

=.=

Well.. That ended our 'grown up' conversation lol!

I'm pregnant..

well at least I was in my dreams.. (gotcha!) ;)

I was in my 5th month and went to see Prof Siti (as I did with my first and second pregnancy) and again she was surprised to see me..

Being pregnant with the first two had been wonderful despite the weight gain lol! I didn't experience terrible nausea and loved feeling the baby's kicks and movements in my tummy.

We would love to be blessed with a baby girl not because family members keep pestering us for one (as though it's as easy as pressing a button on a vendor machine and out comes the soda you want) but more of a completion as a family. The idea of a lil' sister for the boys just feels right.

Honestly, I would love to get pregnant again but some things are definitely holding us back. It's not quite the time yet to have another addition as Hubs just went through a 'bidding game' with 2 different companies (finally settling on one and moving on).. Boys' school fees are going through the roof.. Plans of buying a landed property and a new car in the works.. The current uncertainty of the economy status just makes things uneasy for us not to mention the global warming as well...

The clock is ticking as Kd is getting older and we don't prefer a wide age gap.. Maybe in another year or so til we actually decides on Project Baby =D

My beanie!

My Forever 21 purple beanie arrived yesterday ;)
It's a nice shade of purple
I likey! =D

The postman left the package in my mailbox instead of delivering it to my doorstep and I was waiting in vain.. Thankfully I decided to check my box and voila! there's my beanie baby =D

Kd wanted to try it on too!

X-Men Origins: Wolverine..

is an awesome movie! Not only because there's Hugh Jackman (hubba-hubba!) but the visual effects were real cool and the rest of the cast played their characters really well!

One of my fave movies of the year! It has a good storyline along with sleek fighting scenes, I would definitely want to watch it again.

Of course we couldn't conceal the affects Wolverine had on us with his manly swagger and goofy hair, he looks darn good with and without clothes.. *swoon*..

I thought Liev Schreiber as SabreTooth suited him well.. He brought out the hungry killing machine in the character with a twist of brotherly bond with Logan. And who would have thought Will.I.Am turns out to be a pretty talented actor? =D

I loved the part where Gambit showed his skills with the playcards when fighting with Wolverine and the thing he does with his stick.. Coolness!

Here I thought Weapon XI was played by Ryan Reynolds, but in fact it was carried out by Scott Adkins who was in Bourne Ultimatum and Undisputed Trilogy. He's an English actor and a martial arts pro ;)

I'm sure most of the girls cussed at Lynn Collins (who plays Kayla Silverfox - Wolverine's love interest) during the more intimate moment scenes lol!

I don't know how Hugh Jackman gets so buffed and sculpted but he sure is good to drool I mean look at ;)

2 thumbs up for the good work on X-Men Origins: Wolverine!

Understanding Kd's language

We always thought KD Boy was a wee bit slow in speaking (compared to his brother who could form simple sentences at 21 mths) but when he did pick up.. oh boy did he pick it up well. Some time after CNY he ditched his baby talk and spoke words we could actually understand. In that few months, he also learnt all his ABCs and 123s from his brother! (The wonders of having an older sibling lol!)

We still have trouble understanding him at times.. especially words that sound similar and those which starts with 'S'..

Once he was saying bird..fly..dai! I went 'die'? No.. dai! At that moment I was scrambling my brain trying to figure out what he was saying then it occured to me.. Sky! Lol! Yup bird fly in the sky.. not die.. duh! =D

Recently Buk screamed 'monster! monster!' while running away from Hubs and KD happily joined in the fun. Hubs and I rolled with laughter when we heard KD cuz he went..

'Monjer! Monjer!'

And this is after we got rid of the 'Monjer' Yay!

He can also name all his favourite Tranformers characters (shortened, of course) and what they transform into hehe. My boys are such Tranformers fans that we have so many of the toys it's like an invasion. (Ok admittedly both Mummy and Daddy are big fans too ;D)

And my lil chipmunk adores his dinosaurs books and toys. His favourite? Tritops (Triceratops!)

Sports' Day

This year, Buk's kindy decides to have the annual Sports' Day within the school compound. Last year, it was held at a community hall where it was hot and congested and cranky kids screaming their heads off. It was quite chaotic with the parents rushing their kids out of there as soon as it ended.

Although the kindy isn't very big, having the events inside the compound proved to be well organized and much more fun. The facilitators came up with a proper schedule where each age group took turns with their events. I think most parents preferred it this way.

Unfortunately for me, I missed Buk's events! Rushing from sending Hubs to his conference and getting stuck in 2 different traffic jams, I only made it in time for the trophy and picture taking ceremony =(

Buk with his classmates lining up for trophy ceremony

Buk with his trophy. Erm it's terbalik dear =D

He enjoyed his Sports' Day and was beaming when he took home his trophy. I hope we won't miss the next one!

Here comes..

..May!

First two weeks are already filled with activities and celebrations.. I can't wait!

Photography workshop with Andy continues this Saturday morning for our outdoor session (pray it doesn't rain!) at the Lembah Kiara Recreational Park. The basic DSLR session held indoors was very informative and interesting.. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Right after that is shopping session for ThreadBarn! =D I'm so excited to finally be able to set a date with L to replenish the blogshop. Honestly, we're running low on items and it's getting kinda stale ;p It's sorta retail therapy for me as well since I've been resisting shopping temptations lol!

On Sunday morning, we're taking Kd to sign up for TumbleTots! =D We've decided to just let him go for physical play since he did so well in LetterLand.. This boy needs to socialize with children his age! Can you believe only 2 years old and already refusing to join in with the kiddies? (although he enjoys mixing around with older kids!) Lil tyrant..

On Tues (crosses fingers) is our lil girls' night out for our drool fest ;) Wolverine.. yum..

Thursday, 7th May marks our 5th wedding anniversary! We've been together for 12 years.. time does fly.. Numerous ups and downs of course, and lately a lot of frustrated, wish-we-could-strangle-each-other moments. Think we need to step back, breathe and look at the bigger picture. If we made it through so much in the past years, I'm sure we can hang in there for a lot more =)

On Sunday is Mothers' Day! Lunch with mum and gang is the usual plan.. Followed by dinner with dad and step-mum.. Oh wait.. there's also mother-in-law.. Hmm probly dinner on Saturday? =D Celebrations overload!

What's next after that weekend? Hopefully Hubs get to have his break from work and go on a family holiday! Buk will be having school holidays afterall ;)

Drool fest!

When I first saw the tv ad for X-Men Origins:Wolverine, I knew I had to watch the movie at the cinema. Huge screen means better view of the yummylicious Hugh Jackman (sigh...)

The last time Hubs and I went for a movie was for my birthday (thanks to Lia for babysitting the boys) and before that were kiddie movies with the boys =D (yeah that's us ever since having kids lol!)

Last week Lia suggested a girl's night out to watch the buffed and sculpted and charming and yummy erm movie hehe.. Of course I was up for it, are you kidding? =D Forget bout Hubs! Who else to share the drool fest with if not with those who share the same crazy pandemonium?

Can't wait for our movie night! Lia suggested we bring buckets just in case tissues or hanky won't be enough but when D mentioned uncensored scenes in the movie, I think we need to sit in a tub! =D

My shoe obsession

I have a weakness for shoes. Period.
From shopping in shoe shops to exploring the online shoe world, I just can't help ogling and salivating over them. (High heels and boots in particular)

When I first saw the pair of Aldo boots in FaceBook's Shoes application, I just had to hunt for them. Soon enough I found the gorgeous pair in Aldo 1Utama (what luck!) tried it on and immediately in NEED to own it.

I liked it so much I didn't care about the fact that they were 1size too small (and forget bout the price!). Call me crazy but I convinced myself the boots would stretch and fit me.. eventually =D
Then I started exploring the online world and discovered this lovely baby...

Picture credited to duskywings

Simple yet sweet and I do like white shoes =) Arranged for purchase and meet-up with the blogshop owner almost immediately and I just fell in love with the pair.. Unfortunately, after wearing them just two times, this happened..

I was devastated! How in the world did the heel break? I really fancied them. Nonetheless, I contacted the seller and she was very understanding and willing to pay me back my money. To heal my heartbreak, (and also to stop looking like a fool walking around barefoot in a mall..) I went and looked for another pair.. So this lovely white pair of White Angela is replaced with..

I found this in Opera shoe shop in 1Utama and they cost slightly more than White Angela.. =)
Although it wasn't a good experience for me to buy shoes online, I wanted to give others a chance. I found this site which custom designs canvas shoes called tenladytoes (http://tenladytoes.blogspot.com/) and most of their designs are oh so cute! Told my sister about it and we both ordered our respective shoes =)

Aren't they cute? TLT had 2 different designs which I liked and decided to combine them and came up with this. Although I preferred more 'grass' and 'swirls' I was happy with them. TLT did a good job and are very pleasant sellers.
Soon find myself in a shoe frenzy and constantly in search of new ones. Along came the Bradshaws epidemic! Everyone was talking about (and not just in the online world) and when I saw the design, I practically swooned! =D

But since we can only pre-order them from the blogshops (imported from the US) I was in doubt.. Not because of trust issues, but the shoe sizes differ from the ones we have here. Think I kept visiting the blogshops just to drool over the Bradshaws for weeks.

One day, I found someone reselling hers in size 7 (which was my size) and this time, I could try on and check out the quality before purchasing them. Guess what I did? ;) My own pair of purple Bradshaws!

Hard not to admire! =D

With all these news shoes, the older ones are pretty neglected and Hubs has been complaining.. I don't blame him but he should see this coming ;)

My new obsession!

Earth Day!

All of us should celebrate Earth Day every day! Conserve energy, eat organic foods and use non-chemical cleaning agents. Ok I admit organic products are pricey but the Earth clearly needs a break from humans' carbon footprint.

I calculated my carbon footprint (http://www.carbonfootprint.com/calculator.aspx) and it's not pretty. Driving my car emits carbon monoxide which is probably the major harm to the Earth. Other than that is the lack of consuming organic food and it is a BIG difference.
We are unsure on how much chemicals and pesticides are used by farmers on our vegetables and hormones injected into chicks to boost growth.
Organic poultry are as natural as possible because the animals are corn-fed or are grown at their own pace hence safer for us to eat and healthier for the environment.

I have not used chemical products to clean my house since last year. My boys had atopic eczema when they were younger and I myself have sensitive skin, I've opted to use only baking soda with distilled white vinegar and lemons. They clean well and because they are natural mineral and ingredients, no harmful gases are released in the air (which thins the ozone layer)

I've also decided not to fix my vacuum cleaner since it broke down because not only does it use a lot of electricity, it's actually harmfully emitting tiny dust particles as you use. Sweeping (although it does cause dust to fly, it's still tolerable) and mopping is efficient to keep the house clean.

What else? Try not to use plastic bags except Tesco's biodegrable ones. I have so many useful canvas bags, they're a gem! Oh, I've switched to plant based dishwashing liquid and add baking soda and vinegar into my laundry for cleaner and fresher clothes. You may think they don't clean all that well but believe me, they do!

I've been thinking of converting my black thrash can into a compost bin but not quite sure where to start and whether it's a good idea seeing that we stay in an apartment. I would really love to recycle every single thing that can be recycled.. Be it cans, paper, plastic even leftover foods. What could be more thoughtful and safer to protect our dear Planet Earth? =D

Happy Earth Day! May we stick to our good habits and love love love the Earth!

What's been going on..

I have been pretty busy lately (ok ok been lazy to write an entry here hehe)..
So what's been going on? Hmm lets's see.. Kd Boy turned 2 on the 7th of March..
Lisha n I started on a new project called ThreadBarn (http://threadbarn.blogspot.com) where we hunt for exquisite, unique clothings and accessories and sell them on the blogshop. Right now, we're in the midst of creating our own versatile piece but have hit a small blunder. Sigh.. We will make it work! (as Tim Gunn says it =D)

I have stopped keywording for Alfred to focus on managing ThreadBarn but am thinking of resuming it.. The online shopping world hasn't been very kind to us.. Things are moving pretty slowly and honestly, I'm a little frustrated. (Alright let's face it, I'm always frustrated with everything going on around me =D) But I would like to see our sales move at a consistent rate!

Took Kd Boy for a trial class at TumbleTots couple of weeks ago.. He did better in LetterLand than I have expected. He was very responsive and enjoyed the arts and crafts session. During physical play however, he was a little anti-social =D Climbing and tumbling are his faves but he just refused to join in with the group! Preferred to climb on the stations on his own and didn't have the patience to wait in line sigh.. So like his daddy..

Potty training has begun! Lots of accidents in the first week but he's doing well now.. Sometimes he tends to forget (esp when the TV's on!) and gives his Mummy (and Aunty Eea!) some extra work to do.. Better start training him now so Hubs and I can save on day-time diapers. Night time training would be another challenge and another chapter...

Khalis has been doing very well in kindy.. His teacher has nothing but praises on his work and behaviour, I'm so proud of him! Been very helpful with his friends and always the first to volunteer to carry the utensils during snack time. He does drive me up the wall with his constant complaining and whinging nature at home.. I guess he can't help it.. Or it's just become a habit =D

LeapFrog SchoolHouse has been put on hold due to unforeseen circumstances sigh.. Mr.Teh has moved on to another company and is planning on reviving the school with his new group. Well, keeping my fingers crossed for good news from him!

My latest toy

Phone conversation with my Dad.

Me: Hi, Dee

Dad: Ah Yan, ah Dee here ar.. What you want for your birthday?

Me: Har? Birthday ar.. Errr I'm not sure..

(He caught me offguard as I wasn't expecting that question)

Me: Oh, oh I want a camera! A Nikon D60 would be nice.. Hehe

Dad: A camera? What for? You use wan meh? When you gonna use it? Why you want it for?

(Yes he likes to interrogate me that way)

Me: Hehe.. Err.. Use to take pictures? Haha.. It's ok Dee, you can get me anything. I don't mind.

Dad: Hmmph.. Ok lah I'll see what I can find.

Me: Ok, Dee..

After we hung up I didn't think much of it cause I wasn't expecting him to look for what I wanted. When he said 'I'll see what I can find', I assumed he meant looking for something totally non-camera related.

Later that day he called again.

Me: Hi, Dee!

Dad: Ah Yan ar.. Daddy got you an Olympus camera. Better than the Nikon one.

Me: Har?? Really? Haha I was just kidding!

Dad: Yeah it's your birthday present so it's ok..

Me: Hehe ok thanks Dee..

So my Dad bought me an Olympus E420 DSLR. It comes with a twin kit lens and a camera bag. He also bought me an 8gb memory card and he was clear to let me know how much it cost! =D So typical of him but I'm thankful and yes a little spoilt as well. The precious pressie is worth RM2300 ;D

A moment to pray

Yesterday my mum received grieving news of her 2nd sister's death. I was about to leave to her place and carpool to visit my grandma in Puchong.

My aunt has been in and out of hospitals for the past few months due to her kidney problems and colon cancer. She had one of her kidneys removed recently and was on a long-course of medication. She was admitted again on the 1st day of CNY and took her last breath Thursday morning.

We didn't want to upset my grandma so no one told her of the news but when we went to see her, she was crying and told us that she dreamt of her daughter's death. My mum and I looked at each other - wide-eyed. She then said you don't have to tell me, I already know she died.

For a moment my senile grandma seemed to have come alive from the clouds in her head. She who has trouble remembering me and most of her grandchildren (and great-grandchildren for that matter) and has been acting like a child again, spoke with such grief and normalcy - it was somehow a comforting moment for me to see her in her usual self as how I remember her to be when I was younger.

It's been a part gloomy start to the year of the Ox and I'm definitely looking for a brighter and happier note.

CNY

Our 1st day started out slow with the kids getting up early, breakfast and so on.. Khalis refused to wish us Gong Xi Fa Chai.. Instead he says Happy Chinese New Year! Such a mat salleh boy =D

We got ready to leave for CNY lunch at my dad's in Sunway. Every time we meet up with my dad's side of uncles and aunts, I can't help but feel anxious. I know Hubby doesn't really enjoy seeing them because of their drinking habits and loudness and I always wonder what could possibly happen this time.

Last year my dad offered to get us KFC cuz of the non-halal food which was fine.. Only thing is that there were plates of fried pork on the table where we were eating! Hubby and I just kept quiet although we felt uneasy throughout lunch.

This year, they prepared a separate pot of soup and some prawns, fish and abalone ala steamboat style for us which was very sweet of them indeed. BUT... my dear cousin brought his dog over and it started sniffing at our feet the moment we arrived. Don't get me wrong I love dogs but we try to teach the boys that we shouldn't play with them because of our religion.

The worst part is that they were feeding the poor dog beer!! Great! Beer and dog in the house! It was woozy after a while and they put him in the garden. I felt so uncomfortable sitting on the sofa and trying not to think of where the dog has been. Kids were playing on the floor it was just icky!

Mycousin's gf (who only found out we're Muslims while we were there) then said smthg like 'let's just go-lah! The dog so troublesome!' This was after the dog came in again and Kd wanted to touch it and out of reaction I pulled him back and told him no touch. Kd bawled thinking I scolded him. They left soon after.. Not that I want to complain but where's the courtesy and respect? Right?

I have a problem bout commenting on the liquors (and now dogs) to my family cause I don't want to turn out to be the 'mar fan' one. I've tried suggesting having dinners at halal restaurants but only to fall on deaf ears. Hence, we try to avoid big family dinners for the sake of our sanity and we rather makan with dad alone (or with my siblings and stepmum). I want my boys to spend time with their koong-koong as much as possible in a comfortable and 'clean' environment =D

Smurf or chipmunk?

Kd boy will turn 2 in March but he's still as small as ever. He's standing at 83cm tall and weighing at only 9.5kg! That's a mere 0.3kg as compared to 4 months ago.. I took him to the clinic today since he woke up crying and tugging at his ears.. He was in a pretty lousy mood that poor boy!

Thankfully doc prescribed him some antibiotics and paracetamol to counter attack the ear infection before it worsens (that would be incredibly painful and uncomfortable!). Doc was quite surprised at his weight gain (or the lack of it) but assures me that as long as he's eating well and consistently active, I shouldn't worry too much.

My little smurf (as Lia's Hubby calls him although he reminds me more of Alvin the Chipmunk) may be small but he has a temper (oh yes he does!) and don't think about bullying him cause he can shove and smack you silly =D

Dreams..

My dreams have been a little whacky lately.. Almost too dramatic I can write short scripts with them! But there's one recurring dream (almost like a movie, really). which puzzles me. It's with the same guy and I get this dream every few weeks.. From dating and flirting to having a relationship with him (yet all this while I am married with kids so it's an affair! Gasp!)

In real life, he's a good friend from high school who is humble and sweet. Admittedly, he's a catcher (yes girls do get attracted to him immediately) but as well as I know, he and I would never be an item (if I were single that is!)

So what are my dreams telling me? That I had a crush on him but never realized it? Or he's had a crush on me but never revealed it?

In my dreams last night, I was over at his house just cuddling and having a good conversation. We were affectionate but not in a sexual way.. I woke up feeling guilty as though it really happened! Maybe it's the lack of cuddling with Hubby lately that resulted in these telling dreams.. He's been back late and sometimes I sleep early and most nights we're staring at our notebooks trying to finish up our work...

*Shrugs* Maybe dramatic people like me gets dramatic dreams, eh? =D

...and here's 2009...

So much has happened since my last entry.. Some good.. some not so good.. Some happy days and a lot of 'I wanna tear my hair out' days..

Anyway, boys are bickering on a daily basis.. Kd has such a stubborn streak (not from me, really!) followed by his foul temper. He's started throwing things when he doesn't get his way and screams bloody murder at his brother for taking something away from him (understandably it is annoying when that happens).. He's almost 2 now but he still can't form simple sentences.. Actually he still can't quite say a lot of things except for his famous exasperated 'NO...'

Khalis started his 4 year old class and he's enjoying it.. no problems there.. (phew!) He's also learned the art of scrunching up his face when he's angry while folding his arms at chest.. as well as throwing a fit (yes screaming, stomping, flailing arms etc..) when things don't go his way (especially when he has to leave the playground or when he's enjoying a certain activity)..

They do drive me nuts and sometimes I feel numbed to their squabbling.. I can't scream when they're screaming cause obviously they won't hear me (or choose not to!) so I just have to breathe.. get myself together and wait til they're done.. Usually it works depending on how long-winded they can get..

Definitely a challenge these days with these monsters of mine.. They both need constant affection but they become possessive when I cuddle with one.. It sure is tough to spend equal amount with 2.. I've tried taking Khalis out on a 1-on-1 date and he really enjoys his Mummy-time.. I should do it often..

I would think I'm a good mother but I know there's plenty of room to improve.. Bringing up well-mannered, good behaviour, positive and happy kids are such an importance - it's in overdrive!

Wish it would be a great 2009 filled with laughter and happy tears =D
